My New Background

Yay - me! Thanks to some very helpful friends on the Cricut messageboard, I've created and added my own background to my blog! It now has a little personality. Of course, it had to showcase my love for all things pink and polka-dots!

First, I went to www.thecutestblogontheblock.com. After picking one of their free backgrounds, I stumbled across the tutorials. Since I have been wanting to play around with Photoshop, I decided to create my own background. I used elements I found at www.shabbyprincess.com. They have the cutest templates on their site, and many of them are free!!

Tomorrow (maybe) I'll tackle my header.

What do you think??

Catching Up

Well, well, well. Keeping up with a blog is going to take more time than I thought! I have been waiting to post until I had some new things to share, but I seem to have many works in progress. I need to finish something!
So I won't feel too pathetic about myself, I'm going to post some things that are a little older. I decided I just need to start somewhere, right?

This first card I made using the Don Juan cartridge, a Martha Stewart punch, and Skittles. I like the simplicity.

Here are some Halloween cards made using Wild Card

My favorite cards to make are for birthdays and thank yous. This birthday card was made using the cake image from Wild Card. I flipped another slice and welded them together in Design Studio to it would open like a card. It looked pretty flat, so I added a different paper along the "top" of the cake to give it some dimension.

This was one of the first cards I made with my Cricut. I cut the words from DoodleType, the flowers are a Martha Stewart punch, and once again I used Skittles for the flower centers.

That's it for now. I need to go make a dessert for a party tonight. I'll download some pictures of more recent projects and (hopefully) get them uploaded tomorrow!

I've Done It!

Well, I've done it! I've joined the blogging world. I don't have a really clear vision of what I want this blog to be, but for now I'm going to focus on my paper crafting.

I just joined Stampin' UP! as a demonstrator, and I am really excited about it! My Starter Kit came in the mail today - I have been checking for it daily since placing my order last week. It came today! Yay! I promised Linda I would post some pics, as I'm trying to convince her of the great deal this kit is. Through the rest of this month, the Starter Kit is 15% off, plus you get to select an additional stamp set and the shipping is free.

If you want to get in on this great deal, click the link to the left for my Stampin' UP! website and go to "Join Now" for the kit. If you aren't interested in the kit but need more product, now is definitely the time to order. SU is having their Sale-a-Bration through the end of March. For every $50 of product you purchase, you get to select an item from the SAB catalog. There are some great options to choose from!

My first peek at my new goodies!

Here are the cardstocks I chose.
The 8 1/2 x 11 packs are multi-colored. One is from the Earth Elements line and the other is the In Color line for 08-09.

Because I also opted for the Making Memories kit, I picked a 12x12 stack to match the Simply Scrappin' Kit I picked - Sweet Nothings.

I selected my ink pads to fill in some gaps I had in my colors.

I was desperately in need of a stamp cleaning pad. Lucky for me, this is part of the kit! I am also excited to try out my pastels. I received my Stampin' Around Wheel and the cartridge, but the actual stamp in on backorder.
The last items in my new kit are my business items. These aren't nearly as exciting as the products! However, if you are interested in hosting a Stampin' UP! party, I'm ready to go! I'm your gal. In addition to the great hostess benefits you can earn from SU, I also give some additional freebies to my hostesses!
